Springtime in Texas!

Howdy, pardners!

Ain't the weather great! It is here in Texas and I hope it is where you are, too!

Mommy and Daddy have been taking me to swim at a heated indoor pool almost every Saturday and my favorite game is chasing the ball around the pool. I can even go under water because Daddy taught me how! He blows in my face and that makes me take a deep breath and he takes me under. I think he's just practicing for when he baptizes people! Mommy wants me to learn how to kick my feet next. But now, I'm just enjoying relaxing in my inner tube!

Guess what?! I'm eating rice cereal! Mommy and Daddy started feeding me from a spoon on Friday night and, even though it's all new to me, I think they were laughing at me! OK, so I don't know what to do with the spoon in my mouth yet and most of the cereal ends up on my chin or bib. But I'm still having fun trying to eat real food! I just get so excited when I see Mommy bringing the bowl toward me! Sometimes Daddy tries to feed me, but sometimes I think he has as much to learn about this as I do!

Daddy's still working hard here on campus, keeping everything looking so nice. The tulips he planted are just beautiful!

Grammy has taken up a new hobby called "smocking." I don't know what that is, but she sure has made some beautiful dresses for me and my cousin!

When we were visiting Cousin Jayme, Mommy went to a big church yard sale and got a backpack carrier for me. Now, she can take me shopping and she doesn't even have to hold me! That's a good thing because she's having some tummy pains near the place where her hernia operation was. Please keep her in your prayers so it will stop hurting her!

Gotta go now. Check out the photos below and thanks for stopping by!

March Madness!

Evenin' folks!

Hope you had a great weekend! I sure did!

We went to visit Granddaddy and Grammy and stayed at their house for FOUR WHOLE DAYS!

They let me fly on an airplane again (despite what happened last Christmas)! We got in Wednesday night and we were so tired we went to bed early.

On Thursday, I had an appointment to get more photographs made. The place where Mommy and Daddy got their wedding pictures told them when they had their first child, they could come back for a free picture and that's me! Except they didn't take just one picture. They took LOTS AND LOTS of pictures! (Don't tell anybody, but they even made me take my clothes off for one of them!) (NO, I'm NOT going to post them for the WHOLE WORLD TO SEE!!!) I showed them, though. I left a little puddle on the bear-skin rug as a souvenir! Daddy and Granddaddy spent most of the day watching basketball games on TV. I thought they would NEVER end!

On Friday, cousin Jayme came over to see me and we had lots of fun together. Boy, can she talk! And walk, and run, and climb and do just about EVERYTHING! I guess she forgot how to sit still like I do when she grew up! Anyway, she was so nice to me and let me play with some of her toys and gave me lost of hugs and kisses. She's my favorite cousin in the whole, wide world! Uncle Eric, Jayme's Daddy, and my Daddy and Granddaddy watched basketball on TV again all day Friday, too!

Saturday was St. Patrick's Day, but I didn't have anything green to wear. That was okay because we had a PARTY at Granddaddy and Grammy's house and invited all of our friends! We had pizza and hot wings and chips and dip and desserts and lots of good stuff. Actually, that's what the big people had. I had milk, but that's okay. That's still my favorite food. You'll never guess what Daddy, Granddaddy, Uncle Eric, and Great Uncle Greg did on Saturday. Yep, they watched basketball on TV. Don't those guys ever get tired of running back and forth on that little court?

Anyway, the crowd seemed pleased with my new trick of rolling over from my back to my front, so I had to do it lots of times. I also let lots of people hold me and pass me around and kiss me and hug me and try to make me laugh. Mostly, I just smiled for them, but that seemed to be enough.

This morning, we went to church, then came home to take a nap. I slept on Granddaddy's chest while he and Daddy watched basketball on TV! Then, we went to the airport and had dinner in a restaurant while Daddy and Granddaddy watched basketball on TV! It's a good think me and Mommy and Grammy had lots to talk about, because we sure didn't want to watch that much basketball on TV! Now, I know why they call it March Madness!!!

Hope you enjoy the photos below. They're my favorites. See you soon!

Abbey Dawn

Marching On To Childhood!

Howdy, pardners!

Hope you're doing well!

Guess what? My latest trick is rolling over from my back to my front! Now, if I can just figure out how to roll over from my front to my back, there'll be no stopping me!

I'm going to visit my cousin Jayme next week and maybe she can give me some pointers. She's already walking AND running!

Mommy and I went to the store today to get some supplies for her new job! She's been observing a school nurse for the past couple of weeks and, on Tuesday, she'll be all by herself as the clinic nurse at a local elementary school with hundreds of little kids! She's excited about her new job and I'm excited about getting to spend more time with her because she gets nights, weekends, holidays and the WHOLE SUMMER OFF! Is this a great country, or what?

Of course, most of the kids come from Spanish-speaking homes, so Mommy's been brushing up on her habla Espanol! They have free classes for school nurses on Spanish medical terms and that should help a lot!

Daddy doesn't have classes for a few days while a conference is going on here on campus, but he does have to work. I think he's glad that springtime's coming, since he works outside most of the time. I'm so proud of both my parents and thank God for them every night when I go to bed.

I hope you enjoy the new photos below. I'll post some more soon.

Thanks for stopping by and come again soon!

Love,

Abbey Dawn
